With a career that spans three decades, Maná has captivated the hearts of all of Latin America with their pleasing and catchy sounds. Having sold more than 40 million records worldwide, Maná is considered the most successful Latin American band of all time. Maná is made up of Fher Olvera, vocalist/guitarist, Alex González, drummer, Sergio Vallín, guitarist and Juan Calleros, bassist. After playing in stadiums around the world, Maná decided to make Los Angeles their official home. Together with The Kia Forum, Maná signed an agreement to have their own residency called Maná: La Residencia Los Angeles. Playing more than 8 shows this year, Maná doesn’t plan to stop. Residency shows continue to be added each month after previous shows completely sell out.
Mexican pride was on display on September 16 for one of Maná’s many stops at the Kia Forum. Fher, Alex, Sergio and Juan took to the stage and began to play for a sold out crowd on such a special day, Mexican Independence Day. Maná’s energy on stage was unmatched and they performed hits like “Labios Compartidos,” “Mariposa Traicionera,” “Como te Deseo,” Clavado en un Bar” and many more. The band got fans in the sold out arena to stand up and sing every song word for word. Throughout the night, Fher gave empowering speeches and stories that inspired their songs. “The city of Los Angeles belongs to the Mexicans and to all the Latinos who live in this beautiful city,” said Fher. Fher’s energy and pride made fans want more. After two hours of singing and dancing, Maná finished their set with “Rayando el Sol” and gave a big thank you to everyone who came out, the city of Los Angeles and Fher let out a big yell, “Viva México!” The residency concluded in October with the their final shows on October 21 and 22 and there are still talks to continue the residency into 2023. Only time will tell.
